Live Aqua -- Cancun, Mexico

In August of 2011 my husband and I traveled to Cancun for our honeymoon, where we stayed at the all-inclusive Live Aqua.  We purchased flights, hotel stay, and roundtrip airport transfer from expedia.

The moment we walked into the hotel-- I felt like I had entered a temple.  The staffers were all wearing white and while waiting in line to check-in, they served us warm cinnamon apple tea.  The design and feel felt very zen, calm, and peaceful.

One of the great perks to Live Aqua is that it is an adult only place.  Don't get me wrong, kids are all good and fine, but sometimes it is nice not to hear crying babies, children screaming, and being splashed in the pool.

We booked a deluxe ocean front room with a balcony.  The room was modern and elegant.  It was very different from all the other Mexican hotels we stayed at so far.

We really loved our little balcony--where we could see the gorgeous sunrise.  Also, having dinner out there was just amazing!

The pools and beach area always had plenty of lounge chairs.  Live Aqua has 8 swimming pools-- including an infinity pool.

There were three places to eat at.  No reservation was needed and the lines were never too long.  Check the schedule, because some of the restaurants might be closed on certain days.

MB is the "fancier" place to eat.  We enjoyed having dinner there.

Siete is the more casual place to eat.  In the morning there would be a nice breakfast buffet.  We didn't try their lunch. We had dinner there one night, but didn't really love the food there.  Perhaps some of the Mexican dishes were too authentic for us.

Azur is their beachfront buffet.  We mainly ate here during the day since we were already out at the pool.  No complaints on the food.

The pool area also has a great snack bar.

Room Service---Now this is where it's at!  They have an amazing room service selection 24 hours a day with no extra cost.  We did this majority of the time.

Do yourself a favor and order the Ceviche---it's just superb!

Live Aqua is situated next to La Isla Shopping Mall.  There's also a bus stop that will take you to the major surrounding attractions such as the Hotel Zone area.
Live Aqua staff provided great service in every aspect.  They were all attentive and always had a smile.
One random thing to mention is that Live Aqua have resident parrots!  Sometimes they will be with a handler and other times they are chilling on their own.

The only major con about Live Aqua is that it could be pretty boring.  This place does not offer nightly shows or many daily activities.   Their bars are pretty tame as well.   But the good thing is that their location is good enough to get to where the action is.
